“Our bodies and minds are not linked;
they are the same.”
Amy Matthews
Life fundamentally changed for me when I was 20 years old, pursuing my dream at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. On the eve of my directorial debut, I was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). After a year and half of treatment, self-reflection, and personal study centered around yoga, meditation and self-healing, I returned to complete my theater degree in 2006. I knew I needed to channel my potential in a new professional direction.
Over the past two decades, I have been a devoted practitioner and continuous learner as a full-time Yoga and Anatomy Educator. After 23 years in the New York Metro area, my husband and I reside in the infectiously generous and kind community of Manitou Springs, Colorado.
